"George Moore menswear was a time capsule of a shop in funky little Myddleton Road in Bowes Park. It's now finally been boarded up."
George Moore menswear in deepest N22 was a bit like the mysterious Charles Lon of Islington. It ceased trading years ago, but still had a full window display of gradually disintegrating clothes that were the men’s equivalent of the sort of thing they sold at the much-lamented Blustons of Kentish Town. It was a fascinating place, not least because of its location in the pleasingly tucked away Myddleton Road (even the ‘y’ has a nicely arcane feel about it). This street has an unpretentiously quirky vibe, with its little park, cafe, The Step, and The Garden of Saints shop which sells religious artifacts. Wonder what G. Moore will turn into?
