About Us

You liked it… It’s gone
London RIP is devoted to all the things you liked about this fair city… that aren’t there any more.
What’s it all about?
London RIP is nostalgia. It’s local history. It’s a protest against lick spittle yellow running dogs of capitalism that are determined to turn the entire place into an enormous Starbucks… or something like that.
Who's behind it?
Jacqueline Kingsley
Jacqueline Kingsley
Jackie was born south of the river, lives north of the river, and after all this time still feels like she notices something new about London every day. She loves it when people remember the same obscure, slightly weird stuff she does. She has never been on the Bakerloo Line.

Michael Shamash
Michael Shamash
Michael has always lived in North London and has been both besotted and exasperated by the city. He is a differently abled person. He is a social policy researcher and sometime journalist who loves writing about the ever-changing metropolis. He wants London-RIP to lead the way in documenting the way that change impacts on Londoners lives be it positively or negatively. He wants Londoners to have a far greater say in making or opposing these changes.
